Dr. Swati Mittal

Associate Professor


Dr. Swati Mittal obtained her PhD from SNDT Women’s University Mumbai in 2009. She has over 16 years of teaching experience and is a recognized PG and PhD guide by the University of Mumbai and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. She specializes in formulation development and evaluation of novel and conventional drug delivery systems, both in vitro and in vivo in animal models. Her work also includes evaluating herbs and herbal formulations as alternative therapies. She has 16 publications in peer-reviewed journals and one book chapter to her credit. She holds memberships with the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council and the Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India.
Interested Areas:
Formulation development and, in vitro and in vivo evaluation of novel and conventional drug delivery systems. Evaluation of herbs, herbal formulations as alternative/supportive therapies in animal models.

    • 20,000/- from Mumbai University (2011) for penetration enhancers in transdermal delivery.
    • 35,000/- from Mumbai University for nasal drug delivery systems.
    • 12,000/- from Rajiv Gandhi University for a survey on polycystic ovarian syndrome awareness.
  • Industry Research Projects:
    • 75,000/- for Crest Cellulose Pvt Ltd. Hyderabad, for studies on excipients.
    • 3,500/- from Skanda Laboratories for nerve conduction in diabetic rats.
    • 1,500/- for evaluating neuropathy in diabetic rats.
