Pharmacognosy is a branch of pharmacy education that focuses on drugs derived from plants, animals, and microbes. Herbal medicines are created by integrating traditional wisdom with modern science and technology.
The Department of Pharmacognosy is dedicated to providing knowledge in various aspects of natural medicinal products through both theoretical and practical training. The department is well-equipped with two undergraduate laboratories, a crude drug museum, a herbal garden, and modern equipment for the extraction and isolation of natural medicinal products.
